The thing I like about Mina Carter's books is they are short and sharp. She's able to pack some really decent world building into the few short pages of her books and this one is no exception.
Dragon's Honor is the sixth book in the Paranormal Protection Agency series but also a part of the Roar, Growl & Kiss box set which was recently released. Fortunately, even though this is the sixth book in the series, you do not need to have read all the previous books in order to follow what's happening in this one.
I adore dragon shifter stories so I was excited to get into this one. I loved the parts about Baron and Duke being twin shadow dragon shifters and all the things I learned about their specific breed of dragon. What Baron and Duke can do as dragons and in their dragon shifter forms is super duper cool. (Look at me reduced to the vocabulary of a teenager!)
And of course, I loved Baron as the hero too cos he's growly and dragon-ey.
As for Honor, well, with Honor, I was predisposed to not like her because she was supposed to be a spoiled, rich socialite, except she's not. She's hardworking, resourceful and resilient. She does, however, annoy me a couple of times because she does certain things I was not a fan of. I got rather impatient with her but fortunately this is a short story so I was able to power through it and Honor's less than stellar moments didn't last long.
I'm having a slight gripe at the moment with paranormals set in contemporary times not having the "sex talk" about birth control and protection and this one didn't. I'm not going to jump all over it because this is the sixth book in the series and world building around that might have already taken place in previous books which I do not know about since I've only read the first two books in the series but I have not read book three and four. I generally assume paranormals are immune to sexually transmitted diseases but then there's the pregnancy prevention angle that still needs to be covered. It didn't stop me from enjoying the story overall but I did notice its lack.
Ultimately, this is a fun, quick romp through dragon-land for me. I'm looking forward to the next book which is Duke's story and how he meets his match and his mate.
