What Deanna Read #91: November 2023

Hey, did you know it's almost the end of the year? Crazy, huh? I can't believe it and I'm. Not. Ready. Still a heap of work to do. I can't complain, work has been good. Important when one works for oneself. But it has severely cut into my reading time.

Aside from that, how are y'all doing? And here's what I read for the last month.

What Deanna Read #90: October 2023

I looked at the date today and realised it's November and it's time for what I read in October. Oof! The month flew by and November is kind of a nutso month for me. I don't think I read much for October. I truly struggled to find books I was interested in reading and there were a bunch of duds for me in the month. Sadness.

Aside from that, how are y'all doing? And here's what I read for the last month.

What Deanna Read #89: September 2023

Hello, hello. Life continues to chug along. I'm still dealing with the menopause which is hampering a lot of my life, productivity, and creativity. Nonetheless, I soldier on as best as I can. I've started a blog/website and Facebook Group to support other women like myself who have been caught by surprise with menopause and are totally unprepared for it. It's a safe place for them to visit and talk without judgment. This also means I'll stop blathering about it here. Yay!

Aside from that, how are y'all doing? And here's what I read for the last month.

How One Unrequited Love Inspired an Acclaimed Debut Novel | Interview with author Harker Jones

Meet Harker Jones

Many months ago, around about when I got sick, Harker contacted me. It took me a while to respond, and then surgery, recovery, etc., etc., and I eventually said, I wouldn't be able to review his book, but it sounded like he had an interesting story to tell, so would he like to do an interview with me? Yes, he would. Fast forward to a few weeks ago, I finally got round to following up with him. I am grateful for his patience, and fortuitously, it's September, which seems fitting since his book is called Until September. I'm going to let Harker tell you his story, in his own words.

Please give Harker a warm bloggity welcome.

What Deanna Read #88: August 2023

Did y'all know that the best intentions with getting back into things can be completely railroaded by menopause if you're a woman of a certain age? Geez!! Life has not been fun recently. Menopause. Zero stars. Do not recommend. But onwards...

What Deanna Read #87: July 2023

So the whole getting back into it weekly thing has not worked out great. Honestly, the health is better, but combine being very behind after months of not working, I have a lot to catch up on. I'll get there. But in the meantime, not much reading is getting done.

Here's what I read for the last month.

Observations on bookish things #5

Observations on bookish things

⚠️⚠️⚠️This was written a VERY long time ago, but reading back, I thought some things were still relevant, and others not so much. I'll make a note of those.⚠️⚠️⚠️

Hello!! I do not remember the last time I posted on bookish things. Do you? I'm sure it's been a while. Of course, I could go back and check, but where's the fun in that? ðŸ˜› I want to say there's been lots of interesting things going on, but the reality is things kinda ebb and flow. Some days are interesting, some days are not.

What Deanna Read #86: June 2023

Hello bloggity friends, I would like to say that I am getting on top of things, but in reality, my health goes from one thing to another and because of everything that has happened, menopause has kicked in. For those in the know, you KNOW this is rather unpleasant. You name the side effect, I've got it. Ugh!

I've also got a new author client that's super fun, and while we're not doing much promo right now, if you enjoy audiobooks, her stories are all straight-to-audio, and free to listen on my YouTube channel as I'm producing and hosting them for her. It's been a real learning experience, but do go check her out. Her stories are super sweet and fun.

Here's what I read for the last month.

What Deanna Read #85: May 2023

Hello!!! I thought I was getting back on track. Slowly, but yes, back on track. But then Steve got the man-cold, and he gave it to me. Only, I think my immune system is shot from all the other stuff that happened, so I got his cold, which turned into the flu, and that became a chest infection. Fun times! I'm slowly getting better.

Y'all, I started this post weeks ago thinking I'd get caught up. And tomorrow is the last day of June. I'm sitting in bed right now with my laptop on the bed table thingy Steve bought me for my post-surgery recovery. I'm using that a lot as the chest infection really set me back and I've struggled somewhat the last few weeks with my health. I'm hanging in there though.

Here's what I read for the last month.

What Deanna Read #84: March and April 2023

Now, don't get too excited, I'm not sure if I'm actually back. I'm VERY slowly getting back into things and even though I'm about 6 weeks post-surgery, my energy levels are not what they used to be, so there's still a lot of resting. That said, I decided to at least do a little on the bloggity though I'm not fully back into it. I'm starting to put this post together on a Wednesday. Let's see how long it takes me to get it done, eh?

Big thank you to everyone who has been understanding and all the "get well" wishes.

Hello, bloggity readers. You may have noticed that the bloggity has been a little quiet the last few weeks. There's a very good reason for that.

What Deanna Read #83: December 2022 to February 2023

Oof! This is going to be a big post since I'm catching up on 3 months of books read that I have not posted. Excuses aside for slackness, I'm trying to catch up after almost 6 months of travel and being away while trying to juggle work. It's been crazy, y'all. I'm slowly starting to come round, but staying on track is still a struggle. My focus has been mostly keeping ahead of deadlines. A friend of mine calls it survival mode. I'm getting there, I promise!!

Aside from that, I hope you guys are well and have had some awesome reading.

Here's what I read for the month.

2022 Recap: Helen's Top 10 reads

Helen's 2022 top 10

Is Thursday the new Wednesday now? Maybe? The last few posts have landed on a Thursday and it seems like Wednesday evening tends to be the day when I can sit down and put a blog post together. Maybe I'll get back to Wednesdays at some point when I continue to try to get my life back on track. 😊

A bunch of book reviews | Jessa Kane, JE Parker, Cassie Cole, Cindy Gerard

Book reviews

Hello! Hello! I'm home. I'm trying to get back on track on the blogging front, trying being the operative word because, lordy, I am too old for all this traveling, living off caffeine, and then driving all day to get home. I have been so tired since getting home. But there I am, trying to get back on track. So, how about a bunch of book reviews? A few quick and easy ones since I realise I have not been posting as many book reviews and this is an easy way to do them.

Currently reading #2: February 2023

Currently reading

Hey!!!!! I'm home...barely. I leave again in three days for a work trip up north and I'll be gone for about a week. I get home on Valentine's Day and then I'll be staying put for a couple of months at least. There's another work trip towards the end of April. All this travel is playing havoc on my blogging schedule. You have my very sincere apologies.

Currently reading #1: January 2023

Currently reading

Hello! Hello! I'm so sorry I've been absent. I almost didn't even make it today because I'm away on holidays and I've been having fun. It's my first proper holiday in years where I'm not looking after elderly family members or working. Okay, there was a little work, but it's mostly eating, shopping, and catching up with friends.

2022 Recap: Deanna's Top 10 reads

Deanna's 2022 top 10 books read

Right, I'm kinda behind on this post. I do not know why it took me so long to sit down and make this list, but it took me ages to do it. So, finally, it's 4:54am on a Wednesday morning and this post usually goes up at 6am, so this is going to be interesting. Not sure if I'll get it done on time and I'm still debating going back to sleep since I didn't get to sleep till 1am-ish.

Deanna's 2022 year in books

Reading goals

Doing a recap of my reading is one of my favorite bookish things to do each year. I love looking back and seeing what I've read, how I've done. 2022 has been a strange reading year but it's also been good.
