Welcome to another Manview observation. It's been a very long time since we've had a Manview observation and I'm thrilled with Mr Manview giving us his opinion on what makes a great romance hero. And believe me ... he has OPINIONS!! :-)

I hope you enjoy this installment of Mr Manview's observations.

Manview observations #13: The Bra and the Duct Tape Episode

Welcome to another Manview observation. Honestly, I'm surprised this episode in our life has made it into a Manview opinion piece. While it was an inconvenience for me, it's screamingly funny from Mr Manview's perspective.

I hope you enjoy this installment of Mr Manview's observations.

Manview observations #12: How to Lose Me as a Reader

Welcome to another Manview observation. In reading his latest book for a Manview, the author has done a few things to agitate our beloved Mr Manview. The book is probably going to be a DNF and it even sparked this opinion piece. Check out below to see what has Mr Manview all out of sorts.

I hope you enjoy this installment of Mr Manview's observations.

Manview observations #11: A Novel with Romance versus a Romance Novel

Welcome to another Manview observation. It seems Mr Manview has read enough romance to know the difference between romance novels and novels with romance in them. Here's his take on the topic.

I hope you enjoy this installment of Mr Manview's observations.

Manview observations #10: Why I hate Sheikhs and Historical Royals

Welcome to another Manview observation. Mr Manview is really having a go at sheikhs and historical royals. My apologies of lovers of both in the romance genre. Personally, I'm not a big fan of sheikhs but I do love a royal romance, though more of the contemporary ones rather than historical ones. See what Mr Manview has to say about them.

I hope you enjoy this installment of Mr Manview's observations.

Manview observations #9: Are American Romance Writers Better than Australian Romance Writers?

Welcome to another Manview observation. Mr Manview is talking about math and romance today. How is that even romantic you ask? I don't know either. And that title! Them's fighting words!! Read on.

I hope you enjoy this installment of Mr Manview's observations.

Manview observations #7: Does Fifty Shades Darker Send the Right Message to Women?

Welcome to another Manview observation. I absolutely love this Manview because it echoes many of my thoughts and in case you are wondering, no, I did not influence Mr Manview's opinions. He's an open-minded and independent thinker. He came to these conclusions on his own even though we've had discussions on the topic.

I hope you enjoy this installment of Mr Manview's observations.

Manview observations #6: Behind the scenes with romance writers

Welcome to the first Manview observation for the year. Steve has some interesting insights about romance writers he's observed. Of course, this does not keep him from being his usual cheeky self.

I hope you enjoy this installment of Manview observations.

Manview observations #5: The Fuss about Fantasy in Romance

It's almost the end of the year and this will be the last Manview observation for the year. Steve reflects on how reading romance has changed his views.

And since it's so close to the end of the year, we wish you a HAPPY NEW YEAR for 2017.

Manview observations #4: We want to be seduced – not fixed!

It seems like only yesterday that we had our last Manview observation where Steve got all controversial and I felt like I had to slap him down a notch. :-p I'm glad the last Manview observation was so well received. Thank you, open-minded readers. I appreciate you not shooting my husband. I am rather fond of him.

Here's another on for you today. I hope you enjoy it. I had a chuckle reading it. Not being a guy, I can't say if anything is true or not, so I'll just have to take his Manview word on it.

Manview observations #3: OMG, I have a #MANVIEW bias!

Well, well. Another rather controversial Manview observation. I think Steve is on a roll here and trying to see how much snark he can inject into an observation. If you ladies would like to join us for the next romance lunch and bring your pitchforks, I totally understand.

Warning: This Manview observation might just piss off a lot of women - readers and authors alike. But that said, while reading this, please bear in mind that he DOES read romance, and he is admitting to HAVING a BIAS. And please do not shoot the messenger!

So without further ado, here's the latest Manview observation.

Let’s face it romance readers, and – yes – I am referring to the large group of you who think you can score a billionaire who wants to satisfy your every need just because you – ahh, … - exist! It just ain’t going to happen! And when I read this type of stuff, I am downgrading my review by 1 - 2 points out of 5. So if I give the book a 2-star rating, it was probably written well enough to be a 4-star rating and you (female reader) probably gave it 5 stars because your fantasies were fulfilled (did I mentioned that in reality, it “ain’t going to happen!”).

Manview observations #2: The Heat is in the Hair Colour (Apparently)

Here's another cracker of a  Manview Observation aka observations of the romance genre from Manview Steve. I had no idea hair colour was such an issue. Half the time, I don't even notice the heroine's hair color. :-/

I am reading my fourth romance novel so far and noticed something similar about each novel (in addition to to the hero being impossible to exist in real life).  They all have golden red hair.  Why is this? Does the hair colour crank up the heat rating (# of flames)?  Maybe, but I like a little diversity and strawberry blond, golden red, rustic peach, or whatever they call it is not diversity! Give me a blond, a brunette or a raven-black haired heroine! I am sick of the redheads. (Yes, and thanks to the authors for making it even more real by letting us know the patch between their legs has not been shaven to prove they are natural sunflower red on top!)  I mean, I know I certainly could not have sex unless I had proof my heroine was 'au natural' with peach berry jam hair on top. Give me a break!

Manview observations #1: What the heck is "the core"?

Welcome to the first Manview Observations aka observations of the romance genre from Manview Steve. I'm very excited about this series because it brings a fresh Manview perspective to a lot of the things we, as female readers of the genre take for granted. Please give Steve a warm welcome as he explores the topic of "The Core" from a man's perspective.
