What Deanna Read #20: September 2017

September has been a good reading month even with the traveling and the trip I'm on. A few books are carried over from last month because I capped August off early to write the blog post before I left on my trip. Even with the extra books, I did a fair bit of reading which I'm pretty pleased about.

Here's what I read for the month.

This month's reading has been rather mixed. I had a book that made me super angry - it was a fake book on Amazon and ended at like 4%. And I had a book that was a DNF because it was just AWFUL.

Aside from that, a few favorites. Archangel's Viper by Nalini Singh was, as usual, excellent. Ms Singh certainly can write!

And of course, the next book in the Vampire Blood series, The White Lily by Juliette Cross was breathtaking. I can't wait for you to meet Friedrich, the hero, because he is perfection.

The Jaguar Tycoon by Bianca D'Arc surprised me. She is a new-to-me author and the book was compelling and left me thinking about it for many days after I read it, even though it was not an exceptional book but something about it grabbed me.

I read a few from a favorite author, Warrior and Krinar's Desire by Cara Bristol. I completely fell in love with the Krinar world and want to read more of the books set there.

That's it from me. What did you read for this last month? Do leave a comment and let me know.

And stay tuned for Helen's reading list for the month too.

  1. Thanks, Deanna! I'm glad you liked Krinar's Desire and Warrior.

I see fake books on Amazon all the time. They tend to be around 2000 pages, but have no reviews, are listed for free, generally over the weekend. You'll see the same authors with a whole rash of books like that. I always wondered what was in them.

    1. So welcome, Cara. I enjoyed your books. Oh yes, fake books are awful. I try to be a lot more careful these days before I one-click unless it's an author I know and trust.

    1. Oh yeah, Amazon is filled with fake books. So frustrating. Can't just one-click anymore.

  5. 4% that's ridiculous. That would make me mad, too.
