What Deanna Read #75: April 2022

Dang! This month came around quickly. I've been super busy with work which is a good thing but it means I have not been able to read as much. I'm not sure how much I've read to be honest as I haven't checked. Doesn't feel like much though I haven't been sleeping well so I've stayed up late reading a fair bit too. So who knows??? We shall see...

Oh, in other news, I reached 1000 followers on TikTok. Go enter my celebration giveaway.

Also, not that it matters to you guys, but it makes my life easier. Amazon have done something with their images so I can use them in my posts again which halves the amount of work I need to do for them. Yay!!

Here's what I read for the month.

Well, it turns out that I read a lot of more last month than I thought I did. I do think that some of them were pretty short books but I also know there were a few long ones in there. The fun this was I discovered a few new authors that I thoroughly enjoyed and will be looking for more of their books in the future.

First off, because I'm predictable. The Rise Of Promise by TS Joyce. I've been looking forward to this book because the hero sounded like a hoot. Who knew he would turn out to be such a rich, deep, complex character. He was awesome. I fell so in love with him and was sad when the book was over. What an incredible book!!

Another winner from another favorite author. Blade by Cassie Mint. This is short, sweet, and steamy, but most of all, I loved the heroine. She was so strange and quirky and I loved all her awkwardness and all her idiosyncrasies. It made her just that much more delightful.

Of course, what month of reading would it be without another winner by Anna Hackett in The Medic. Wow! I was expecting Ryder to be charming and a bit of a player, but he's deep, compassionate, and probably cares way too much. Coupled with the incredible and deadly Siv, these two make a sizzling couple.

Now onto the new authors I discovered. The first is CM Steele who writes these short, steamy romances I love. I read My Pet by her and was blown away, and no, he does not keep her as a pet. That's the hero's nickname for the heroine. All the things that I love in a romance. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. I will definitely glom it as soon as the book comes out.

The other author is Nikki Ash. I saw A Chance Encounter being recommended in a book group and decided to read it since it sounded like the kind of book that I would enjoy. Yeah, I enjoyed the heck out of it. The hero is just amazing. Such a good guy. It's a one-night-stand surprise pregnancy story, but man, it's so well done. I plan on reading more from this author. I did do a fun little video on TikTok for this book so I'll include it below.

And finally for a bit of fun, here's my most watched video on TikTok so far. I guess hot guys are in.

    1. Ugh, I do not know. It looks like they've changed their comment section recently. Maybe try with breaking the post into a couple sections? I really want to see what you've read.

    1. I agree, I think The Medic is one of Anna's best books yet, but I say that about most of her new books now.

    1. I still haven't gotten into the Regine Abel monster romances. I've heard they are quite sweet and quite good, but... monsters!

    2. They are quite sweet. Not really monsters though.

    3. I think my barrier to entry is the book cover. They look like monsters on the book covers. I need to get past that.

  6. What a kerfuffle. Lol. Really enjoyed the Christine Feehan book. CF can be a bit hit and miss with me even though I read all her books. Well, apart from the Shadow series. She is better when she holds back in the sex scenes as I find her writing of these a bit over the top

    1. I'm way behind on Christine Feehan. Well, in reality, I'm way behind on everything. But with Christine Feehan, I'm way, way behind. I need to catch up on her Torpedo Ink series.
