Here's what I read for the month.
Okay, did a little counting. It was fast, not a lot of books. 20 books read in February. That's pretty good considering I didn't read much. Some of the books were quite short though, but there were a lot of longer books too. It's a good thing those longer books were very enjoyable. I'm glad they held my attention.
What to talk about? Well, I discovered a new author that's fantastic. I read two of her books this month and they were both fantastic. Both Cold Hearted and Hot Blooded were fantastic. Deep, rich, and immersive. Both books were very different too so they were fresh and unique reads.
I think I might have mentioned Cassie Mint before and how much I love her books. They are short but reading them leaves me so happy. I read her entire new Kephart College series this month. She releases fast! The whole series was amazing and I pretty much glommed each book as they released. My favorite of the four books is The Coach.
I love texting or messaging in stories. I feel like they add a level of depth and diversity to the communication between characters. Text by Cambria Hebert is so different because it's about a woman who gets kidnapped but she steals her kidnapper's phone before he throws her into a hole and leaves her there. She uses the stolen phone to text someone in the kidnapper's contacts hoping to get help. The story builds from there and it's full of mystery, intrigue, and tension. This is definitely worth a read. It will captivate you.
Also read a few favorite authors who release books once a month. The Detective by Anna Hackett and The Fall of Promise by TS Joyce were both amazing. The Detective might be one of my favorites from Anna Hackett and one of her best. I'm still partial to Brodin (Emperor), but Hunt comes a close second on the book boyfriend front. The Fall of Promise is a best friends to lovers story and it is so rich and deep. It's filled with feelings as Daylen and Denver find their way back to each other after a painful separation.
Finally, I have to mention Lightning In A Mirror by Jayne Ann Krentz. This is the last book in the Fogg Lake series and it's classic JAK. Great suspense, mysterious hero, independent, strong heroine. Such a fantastic story and end of the series.
That's it from me. What did you read this last month? Do leave a comment and let me know.
Stay tuned for what Helen read too.

What do you think of the Regine Abel books? I haven't read them yet but a lot of people rave about them.
DeleteI really liked them. Enjoyed them all, the last one not so much but was still enjoyable. And they are in KU too!
DeleteGill
Yeah, it's great that they are on KU. I think I'm more likely to try them with them in KU since this is so outside my comfort zone. What would you say the vibe of these books are?
DeleteWith the first 3 there was some sort of external issue going on, and the "marriage " was needed to sort it. Although the aliens were alien looking, there were certain, er, compatibility. So to speak. Try the first one. There a quick read
DeleteI'm trying to get past the fact that the aliens look so strange.
