On the reading front, it's been a good month. Read two new-to-me authors and really enjoyed them. Read some old favorites that really hit me in the right mood.
On the work front, it's getting a little busier. That's a good thing and I'm learning some new things that are challenging me and pushing me to expand my horizons. Nerve wracking but also rewarding.
That's it from me. I hope everyone is well. My thoughts are with you all. Stay safe.
Here's what I read for the month.
I didn't realise till I was putting this together than April was a pretty big reading month for me. Granted, there were some duds but overall it was good. Some new authors I loved and some favorite authors I thoroughly enjoyed.
Of note from the new author front was Fatal Affair by Marie Force. I've heard about this series and Ms Force as an author for a long time but never read her. Then I saw an ad for a new book she had coming out and that started the ball rolling which led me to going back and reading the first of her Fatal series. I adored Nick. This is romantic suspense too which I love.
Another new author was Sam Mariano. I have always stayed away from her books but I heard that How The Hitman Stole Christmas was one of her lighter books and let me tell you, it was a fun book. I loved Jasper, the freaky weirdo. He has some serious boundary issues and what he considers right and wrong is a little bit warped, but that's what made it so fun. Don't ask me why I was reading a Christmas book in April.
On the favorite author front, Lily Harlem released a new sci fi romance with Abducted For Pleasure. I loved the book. I loved the world she created and the setting of the story. Granted it all took place on a spaceship but the alien and sciencey terms were awesome. You need to read this book just to find out what she depicts as sperm for the alien. It's quite creative.
Over The Fence by Melanie Moreland was one of the most romantic books I read for the month. It's so relatable and so inclusive. By inclusive, I mean that I felt like I could be included as a part of their lives and I'd fit right in. This couple made me want to be friends with them. I want them to be my neighbors.
And finally, last but not least, Trapped With The Undercover Prince by Julie Rowe gave me one of the best heroines I've read in a long time. I fell completely in love with Anna. Yes, Zar was an awesome hero but I think Anna outshone him which is unusual for me since I tend to be tougher on the heroines. I loved everything about Anna.
That's it from me. What did you read this last month? Do leave a comment and let me know.
Stay tuned for what Helen read too.
