From my end, this post is a little late because we've been away. Steve's writing a crime thriller and we combined our 20th wedding anniversary with a book research trip and moseyed on down to Tasmania for a little vacay and research. We had a great time and when we got home today, I was wondering why my lunch didn't cook itself. I got very spoiled while away.
Here's what I read for the month.
Well, it's been a heck of a month. I didn't think I read as much, and I didn't, not compared to last month, but it still turned out to be a pretty decent reading month.
Of course, I settled on a few favorites and I caught up on some TS Joyce. How It Is was fantastic. I didn't think I'd love Krome's story as much as I would but wow! He and Cora were amazing. Of course, as usual, Ms Joyce brings all the heart and feels to her story and I was all for it.
I discovered a new-to-me author this month in Lily Gold. I read two of her books and they were both excellent, but Triple-Duty Bodyguards blew me away with its depth and intensity and emotion. Going in, I thought it was going to be about a spoiled, diva actress in need of protection, but it's so much more than that. Crazy stalker, deep emotions, diving into PTSD, and so much more.
I love how prolific Anna Hackett is and this month saw the release of a new billionaire series. I'm madly in love with the series and the characters of the first book, Stealing From Mr Rich. I can't get over how Monroe and Zach meet. It was eye-opening in so many ways. Talk about a zinger of a meeting.
And finally, I read my first Susan Stoker book which I've been meaning to do for ages. Wow! Justice For Mackenzie started off slow, but man, towards the end, it blew me away. That scene when Dax is talking to Mack while they are scrambling to find her. Holy moly! Blew me away. I was so moved by it.
That's it from me. What did you read this last month? Do leave a comment and let me know.
Stay tuned for what Helen read too.

Looks like lots of good books there for you and I am glad you had a great trip to Tassie, it is sad when you get home and have to start preparing your own meals :)

Much better month than I thought. It will be less this month since I didn't read while in Tassie. Too much having fun.
DeleteHaving fun? Sounds like me and Benidorm and god knows when that will happen again. JD Robb. Is that a first for you? Still got the latest to read but otherwise I've read them all, fortunately. Would hate to have to start from the beginning. Otherwise an average month, number wise but on track with my goal of 200 a year.

JD Robb, I started years ago and stopped reading for some reason. Don't know why. I'm way behind but caught up this month with a couple of novellas. Still a long way to go since I stopped at book #26 and it's up to #52 now but I wanted to get back into it since I remember enjoying the series and the characters.
DeleteI'll need to check out Jackie Lau. She sounds good. I'm always up for a new author my reader friends love.
The new Amanda Quick was fantastic. I'm still not over it. I loved the way they were dancing around each other before they could decide if they liked each other or not.
The new Anna Hackett is fantastic. Love the new series and of course, I still can't get over the first time Monroe and Zach meet. *ahem*
