What Deanna Read #39: April 2019

Hellooooo!!! Guess what? I'm home!! And I'm done with the project from hell. It's so nice to be sleeping in my own bed again. And last month, as I was wrapping up the project, I had a bit more time to read. I'm so pleased I read over ten books in April.

Here's what I read for the month.

This has been a good month for me because for the first time in I don't know how long, I have read over ten books. It feels like quite an accomplishment. I've also met my reading goal for the year which admittedly is very low. I only set it to 25 thinking I wouldn't be reading much for the year but I'm glad I've exceeded it.

Serena Akeroyd came out with a YA book and I don't normally read YA. That said, I think her YA is everything I wanted a YA to be but never found in other books. Dare You To Love Me gives us wonderful, relatable characters, realistic high school situations, and problems.

Aside from that, two favorite authors, Thea Harrison with American Witch and Juliette Cross with Hardest Fall. Both excellent. Emotional, intense, superbly written.

And finally, a new-to-me author who blew me away. I binge read the entire four book series in two days. Lily Archer's Fae's Captive series was amazing and the ending... sigh! It's like romance catnip to me what she did with the ending of the series. Stunning, stunning read.

That's it from me. What did you read for this last month? Do leave a comment and let me know.

Stay tuned for Helen's books next.

    1. Hey Gill, how are you? Looks like you had a great month too. Your comment "dodgy political comments" cracked me up. Some authors just do strange things when using their books as a soapbox. Kinda puts me off them. I need to get started on Eon Warriors. I'm behind. But, hey did you see? Anna Hackett has started the House of Rone. Geez, I'm excited about that. Have a great May.

  5. Yes, I'm looking forward to House of Rone too. Did you see there is a free book for pets in space 4, which has a novella about the start of House of Rone

    1. Yes, I saw. I saved the link. Will probably download it tomorrow.
