Saving The Space Pirate by Nina Croft blurb

Saving the Space Pirate is the conclusion to the Ruby Robbins' serial series and the story provides some surprising twists to a fun, sexy space adventure.

As always, since this is a serial series, I am telling you it's part of a serial. This is part three of three of the serial. If you haven't read part one and two, go do that first.

This story takes a serious turn as Ms Croft shows us what she's been hinting at in part one and two - the plight of the slaves and the evils of slavery. It also reinforces Ruby's desire to save the world but in addition to that, it brings about a change in attitude for Killian. Where he was one out for having fun and not wanting any responsibility, he is seeing the world through Ruby's eyes and thinks it's time for him to grow up and take on some of these serious issues that is plaguing the universe he lives in. He wants better for the people who have been enslaved and for them to find freedom as he has.

Of course, there is still the matter of getting back to Earth and delivering a very important message with which the fate of the planet rests on. Getting off the planet Groth is fraught with mishaps and more adventure, and some sexy shenanigans with Zak, but through it all Ruby shows a surprising courage and tenacity.

I enjoyed this series. It started off a little silly and fun, but Ruby developed well as a character, from someone who wanted adventure but was willful and stubborn, to brave and tenacious with an outlook and world view that developed into something bigger than herself. I also enjoyed Killian's character development as he turned from a fun-loving space pirate to someone who cared about the fate of others who have been born or forced into slavery, and wanting to abolish it.

For someone who wants a fun, sexy adventure story with a little bit of seriousness thrown in to make you think, this is a good series to spend a few hours of your time on.
