What Deanna Read #95: March 2024

Hey, look at me, I've got this started early in the month. Let's hope I get it done early and uploaded without delay. Cross your fingers for me. That said, I don't think I read that many books in March. It was a busy month and I had crazy work deadlines, we went away for my birthday, and now I'm of the age where I need a holiday to recover from a holiday.

What Deanna Read #94: February 2024

Y'all, it's the end of the month. LITERALLY!!! It's the 31st of the month and I have about 5 hours left of March. I figured I better get the books I read in February out. Oof! Where did March go? I've been so busy and the month blew by. Plus I had a monster deadline and hubby took me away for my holiday. It was fun.

Perfume Reviews #1: Do you want to smell like caramel and popcorn?

You guys, I am so burned out, it's not funny. I've been tackling a couple of huge sets of edits for author clients on the work front and my brain is kaput. I can't even blame menopause. I need to get my What Deanna Read done for February, but I'm going to wait till I have more brain power on that.

In the meantime, here's a little something I can share with you quickly because it's already done. A little bit of a cheat on my part since I'm lifting existing content, but at least it's funny...or I think it is.

Findaway Voices updated their terms of use for Spotify audiobook distribution quickly

I've been meaning to do an update on the new Spotify and Findaway Voices terms of use kerfuffle which I talked about in a previous post. That got resolved very quickly after the authors who were part of Findaway Voices staged a massive protest. Sadly, life and health got in the way, so I'm only just doing it now. It's probably old news, but I'm still seeing some people ask about it, so here's the low down.

Unpopular Opinions #1: Introduction and Clara Matrix's thoughts on the use of AI by authors and in publishing

I've been trying to get back on track with the website and it seems like I'm going one step forward, two steps back with my efforts as my health and body continues to hate me. Ugh. Not fun. I'm currently recovering from a rather nasty bout of the flu with some added respiratory issues. Yucko! That said, as of last night, I'm starting to feel a bit more energetic, so yay!

So...a little introduction to a new series that I might continue to post intermittently for an idea I've been playing around with.

Edit: I started this mid-month and here I am, end of the month and remembering I haven't finished this yet. Oof! Better late than never?

It would appear that I am improve, at least, as of right now because I've got a bit more energy and I'm trying to catch up on some things. One of these things is the latest on what I read last month. Go me!

I'm also in deadline hell with the day job, but hey, that's for another conversation. I'm plugging along. Also, go me!!

Authors, how will the new Spotify/Findaway terms of use affect you and your audiobooks? A non-legal understanding and interpretation

Hey everyone! I haven't written in a while, but I saw this news about Findaway Voices's new terms of use making the rounds on social media with regards to Spotify and wanted to throw in my two cents to hopefully clarify some things or at least present my (non-legal) understanding of it.

Note, the "new" Spotify terms of use actually went into effect on 8 November, 2023, but the Findaway terms might only just be starting to update.
