Supporting 300 Author Dreams | From Project Manager to Publishing Partner

A friend recently asked me about my career trajectory, wondering how I went from implementing multi-million dollar IT systems to working in publishing as an author services provider. When I went to point her to my LinkedIn profile, I realized it was terribly out of date. As I sat there updating it, something struck me – I've been part of bringing nearly 300 books to life. That number stopped me in my tracks. How did I get here? Let me tell you.

So You Love Reading? A Book Lover's Path to Editing

I get this question at least once a week: "I love reading, and I spot errors in books all the time. How can I become an editor?" Every time I see this message in my inbox or social media, I smile because I understand exactly where they're coming from. Reading is more than just a hobby for these people – it's a passion that makes them want to dive deeper into the world of books and publishing.

What Deanna Read #101: November 2024

Can you believe it's almost the end of the year and Christmas is 2 days away? I usually do a Christmas and a New Year post, but it's been a heck of a two years for me, so this is going to be my last post for the year and I'll catch you in thew new year. I am hopeful that the new year will be better. If you are at all interested in what's been going on that's kept me from being more consistent and posting more regularly here, you can read about it here. Otherwise, I'll catch you in the new year and a massive thank you for your patience and continuing to hang out with me through all of this.

On the reading front, it has turned out better than I thought. Not a lot of reading as work was crazy, but actually more than I anticipated, so there's that. I hope your reading month was awesome too.

What Deanna Read #99: August & September 2024

Sooo... two things. One - we are coming up to ONE HUNDRED What Deanna Read posts. Holy dooley!! This is number 99 and wow! I'm blown away how long we've been doing this. It's still the one post I try to do as consistently as possible. Apologies that I skipped August on its own. Work got crazy, and there was health stuff going on as well. That said, I don't think I managed to read all that much. I'll need to count, but there weren't many books read for the last two months because I was so busy and also not quite 100%.
