If you got this far, go enter my little giveaway. I'm giving away any ONE paperback book or Kindle eBook or Audible audiobook of your choice to THREE winners. Open internationally. I'll leave this up for the month and pick winners next month. This is my small way of saying thank you for your support and staying with me and the bloggity for so long. I love you all.
It's been a MONTH. Work was busy - there were a few book editing deadlines and one of my author clients had a book release. Well, let's face it, there's a book release every month, so that keeps me hopping. That said, on the reading front, it was pretty decent.
A couple of audiobooks and I am still loving the Graphic Audio audiobooks, but man, A Court of Thorn of Roses Part 1 of 2 was an EFFORT. The audiobook for brilliant, but if I'm being perfectly honest (and I usually try to be), Feyre annoyed the everloving crap out of me and I hated her with the passion of a thousand suns. But I hung in there because Graphic Audio. Dang, but I do love their full cast dramatized audiobook productions. They are amazing. Highly recommend, but find a book where the characters don't annoy you. I still need to get back to part 2 of ACOTAR but I need to get into the mood for it.
A lot of comfort reads last month (again!) with favorite authors and I leaned in hard to TS Joyce - her books always make me laugh and feel. I finished the Bears Fur Hire series which was awesome. Actually, book 4 Wolf Fur Hire was the first book I ever read of hers which got me hooked onto her writing and I haven't looked back since. Thank goodness she's got such a long backlist.
I also read most of the Sinners series by Michelle Heard, but I needed a break by the time I got to book 5. So I've still got that waiting for me.
A couple of books by Cassie Mint with Guarded By A Broody Biker which was fantastic with all the longing and pining, and Bride Bargain. No one does pining and unrequited love quite like her and they all hit me right in the feels. There were a few times during the month when I needed that.
It was a good reading month. Kinda predictable, but that's okay. Sometimes we need that.
How did you go with your reading? Read any good books last month?
Find me everywhere:
October was the month of rereads, following the issue of Veronica Scott's Captain and Maeve's tale, and it sent me down the rabbit hole of the Star Cruise stories. A good month in general as the rereads were fairly quick, having previously read them.

Ha ha, I did a count and we both read exactly the same number of books if you don't count all the work related books I read for October. And yeah, that's a massive reread of Veronica Scott, eh? Sometimes a reread of a favorite or comfort author is just what's needed.
DeleteCongratulations! I’ve read some of those also. I really like Kresley Cole.
ReplyDeleteAnd I forgot to put on my name!
DeleteHey Julie, thank you for stopping by.
DeleteOh wow! Happy 100th! That's a lot of books!!
ReplyDeleteHey, how come you don't include my audiobooks?
DeleteWouldn't that be cheating? 😜😜😜 How about I include the new ones each time? 🤔🤔🤔
