This was probably the least books read in a month since I've started keeping track of my reading like that. Only nine books and two of them were, sadly, duds. Let's just say that I'm glad they were either free or in Kindle Unlimited or I'd have been rather annoyed.
A few rereads for me. I've been in kind of a weird slump where nothing new is holding my attention. Mostly, I think, because of the current trends of monsters, kink, and smut are not to my taste. I'm falling back on old favorites and rediscovering Lisa Marie Rice. I originally read her back in about 2011 during ye olde Ellora's Cave days. Who remembers that? Anyway, her books have been a joy recently and I've been loving them. Plus, it's been so long, I've forgotten most of it. Best of all? It's stood the test of time.
Of course, I'm still on a Laylah Roberts binge, so I'm still reading her.
And if Anna Hackett releases a book, I'll read it. Plus her new book, The Hero She Needs is wonderful. It's what I would call, Classic Anna Hackett. All the action and all the steaminess, plus sensible characters I love. Read it. Read it.
Throw in a little Cassie Mint, and that's my very short reading month.

Hey Gill, I'm curious. Did you ever read Susan Stoker? What do you think of her?
DeleteAlso, yeah, Ellora's Cave. They were super raunchy. Lisa Marie Rice is steamy with a side of romantic suspense which really works for me. I'm enjoying them a great deal. Her men are such a throwback to when they were super alpha without it being dark like they are today, and I'm loving it.
I don't think I've read Susan Stoker, certainly not since 2006 when I started my spreadsheet! Weird about the disappearing post! Ghost in the machine!

I think I'm done with her. She has this thing where she writes from the point of view of the bad guy and that's creepy as all get out. Not for me.
