Right, it's taken me DAYS to get this post done. Actually, it's taken me 8 days to finish this post since it's now the end of Wednesday of the next week and by the time you see this, it will be Thursday. I kinda fizzled out part way, then it took a while to get back to it because I had to manage my energy levels. Better late than never.
52 books between March and April, with most of them read in April because well, March I spent most of it in hospital and my ability to read there was ZERO. That's not too bad all things considered. I'll take it.
Now for the standouts.
I caught up a bit on TS Joyce. I'm still way behind, but I finished the rest of the Wolves of Piston series, and then went back to catch up on the Wolves of Promise Falls series. I love Ms Joyce's books. They always make me feel good. There's just something about her writing that has all the feels for me.
A new direction for a favorite author, Julie Rowe, with Sinner's Secret. Kind of a romantic suspense meets paranormal meets urban fantasy. Her hero is a vampire, but it's not very vampirey, if you're concerned with that. Still very much Julie Rowe with all the action and steam.
There were a few fun, quick reads, but I'm not sure if they were fabulous or it was just my very mushy brain latching on because that was all I could handle so I thought I loved them, but anyhoo, Vetting His Kitten by Mink, Going Rogue by Cassie Mint, Nanny Tempts The Beast by Mink, and Dad Bod Dreams by Cassie Mint to name a few.
Finally, I binged SJ Tilly and became obsessed with her heroes. Some books were better than others, but I read six of her books in four days and then reread one of them again. Latte Darling because Axel is everything. Nero because he's all sorts of red flags, and I'd gladly read him over and over again, but I do not wish him in my real life. Finally, Miss Sin because Special Agent John Clark is 🔥🔥🔥 and I'm totally fanning myself while reading him. Ooof! I need a John Clark in my life...or maybe not. He could be another one of those who's just fun to read.
* Read two books with the exact same name. Fun fact. In one book, Mason was the hero, and the other, Mason was the heroine.
That's it from me. What did you read this few months? Do leave a comment and let me know.
Stay tuned for what Helen read too.

Hiiiii!!! **waves** Don't get too excited, not sure how frequently I'm back for yet. It's taking me absolutely forever to get a single post done, granted this was a long one and it always takes a lot of time to put together. It's all those dang books. Maybe I should read less?? LOL.
DeleteWow! You had a good month. Did you enjoy Knightmaster? I loved the start of this new series. Ashtin was all kinds of yummy.
I tried a Cynthia Eden. She's been on my list to try for ages, but I couldn't get past her heroine.
Yes, loved Knightmaster. The scifi ones are my favourites of Annas. I know what you mean about Cynthia Eden. It's the overpossesive hero's I'm not always keen on. That and the way they call the heroines baby. But overall I do enjoy the books.

Ah, but I do love a possessive hero. I actually loved the hero in the book that I read. I just couldn't stand the heroine.

Nice to see you continuing some series. What do you think of Melissa Foster? Have you read her before? I've got a few of her books but not read them yet, but I think those are her older books.
DeleteI only got into Melissa Foster a couple of years ago, so it's mainly the newer ones I read. Sometimes the guys are somewhat overbearing though, but again, I enjoy them overall. I've just finished book 7 of the 7 Sisters. Looking forward to the last one tomorrow, part written by her son, as she died, last year I think
ReplyDeleteGill
Oh, I didn't know she's passed. How sad. I hope you enjoy the book that's part written by her son. I wonder if he'll keep writing under her pen name?
DeleteYes, it's co authored by Lucinda Riley and Harry Whittaker. I think she told him what the underlying story was and he finished it. Have you read them?
DeleteAh no, I haven't, but I think I have some of her older books in my Kindle library I bought ages ago.
DeleteWoohoo so good to see you back and you have read some great books :)
ReplyDeleteHave Fun
Helen
Might not be the most consistent to start, but I'm getting there. Slowly...
DeleteAnother thing I've started to do is note the countries I've travelled to in books. This is April, number of books
ReplyDeleteUS 9
Canada 3
Iceland 1
Sweden1
UK 3
Space 2
Ireland 1
Brazil 1
Switzerland 1
France 1
Kenya 1
Total 24
That is actually super cool. Do you know which books relate to which country? I'd love to use that to do a post that features, "around the world in books". Do you know which different cities in the US, Canada, UK, etc., those books are set in specifically?
Deletehaven't nailed it down to states/cities etc as uts not always obvious, and in some books it's a made up place. But here goes so far. I did get the idea from this blog
