An update for the ARC team | August 2026

Hello, team!

I haven’t had a chance to post ARCs recently as life has been rather consuming and challenging. I wanted to give you a quick update so you know what’s happening and know that I’m not leaving you in the lurch.

Note: this update went out to the ARC team via an email newsletter, but I'm including it on the website for the broader Deanna's World community.

For the ARC team, there’s a long list of ARCs waiting for processing and assessment which I am hoping to get to at some point this month. Look out for an ARC offering either later in August or early September.

A small personal update

I’m not going to bore you with the long, tedious details, but the gist of it is this—since April, Hubby has had two total knee replacement surgeries.

The first one at the beginning of April went swimmingly well—classic textbook perfection.

The second one in early June, not so much. There were some very severe complications where at one point, we didn’t know if he would lose his leg or not. Fortunately, he didn’t. His surgeons (plural) did a fantastic job and I am so grateful. Worst ten hours of my life. This led to an extended stay in hospital.

Then earlier in July, Hubby got very short of breath which went from what was supposed to be a one-hour follow up appointment with one of his surgeons to immediate admittance to the hospital emergency department, followed by a slew of tests, leading to being transferred to the ward for post-operative pneumonia. I’m told that can be quite common, but Hubby’s case was quite severe and that was another long stint in hospital. Oof!

We are home now. Hubby is improving and is about 75% recovered though resting a lot. Meanwhile, I’m a burnt out husk of extra crispy.

I’ve had to scale back on work commitments to look after Hubby and to take over a lot of household chores and errands. That’s why the ARCs assessment process has been put temporarily on hold. I sincerely hope you understand and apologise for the lack of communication.
