I’ve always believed that for every beautiful story, there is a meticulous set of eyes that helped it get there. Whether you’re the person who can’t help but spot a typo on a restaurant menu or someone who catches a lingering error in a best-seller, I see you—and I cherish that eagle-eyed nature. I built this community on a deep passion for books, and today, I’m inviting you to take a front-row seat in the final stage of the creative process.
Looking Beyond Romance into Other Worlds of Stories
My career has evolved from being a reviewer on the outside to a publishing partner on the inside, working hand-in-hand with authors to bring their stories to life. Because of this growth, my portfolio now spans far beyond romance. My current team consists predominantly of romance readers (I love them all dearly!) who love and read Romantic Suspense, Paranormal, Action, Contemporary, and Mafia Romance, along with Fantasy and Sci-Fi Romance, Sweet Romance and Cozy Mysteries. To ensure every book receives the specialized attention it deserves, I am looking to expand my voluntary Typo Hunter Team to include enthusiasts of:
- Urban Fantasy and Dystopian Science Fiction Fantasy.
- Geopolitical and Techno-Thrillers.
- Crime Thrillers, Literary Thrillers.
- Literary Fiction, Memoirs, and Non-Fiction.
- Humor and Women's Stories.
Of course, romance readers of every sort are always welcome since romance is still a very prominent genre in my author client portfolio.
The “Inner Circle” Experience
This isn’t just about fixing commas; it’s about a partnership in trust. I want to fill my team with a range of readers who aren’t just eagle-eyed for spotting mistakes, but who truly love the genres they are reading. By joining, you become part of an "inner circle," getting a "backstage pass" to witness the story in its final evolution even before it reaches the Advance Reader Copy (ARC) team.
Here is what you can expect when you join this part of my team:
- The Ultimate First Look: You get to see the manuscript even before it reaches the ARC team. You are the final quality gate.
- Dabble in Publishing: This is a low-pressure way to see the "raw" side of the writing lifecycle and learn how a book is polished for the world.
- Operational Impact: You aren't rewriting the book; you are simply hunting for the "gremlins" (typos, double words, or punctuation slips) that earlier edits might have missed.
Our Partnership Principles
To make sure this is a wonderful and fair experience for both readers and authors, I’ve put together a few guidelines for the team:
- Trust and Confidentiality: When you receive a manuscript, you are being trusted with an author’s work before the rest of the world sees it. Please do not share the file, plot details, or spoilers publicly.
- 100% Opt-In: This is a low-pressure system where you choose the stories that call to you. You are never obligated to accept a book.
- Commitment to Deadlines: While opting in is your choice, once you do, I need you to commit to the deadline. Publishing is a deadline-driven industry, and missed dates can directly affect an author’s successful launch.
- Communication is Everything: I know that life happens. If you can't make a deadline, please reach out to me privately so we can assess the schedule together.
Ready to Join the Team?
I am so excited to open the door a little wider and invite you to play a direct, meaningful role in an author's success. Your greatest strength is that eagle-eyed focus, and there is a passionate audience of authors waiting for your help.
If you’re ready to help us hunt down those final "gremlins" and champion these incredible stories, please fill out the sign-up form to get started.
I truly can't wait to share these stories with you.
xoxo, Deanna
P.S. If your heart is set on reading but the "hunt" feels a bit too much like work, my Advance Readers (ARC) Team is always looking for passionate readers who want early access to new books in exchange for an honest review! It’s a wonderful way to support authors without needing a red pen
Let's Chat!
Do you have that "eagle-eye" trait where a missing comma practically waves at you from across the room? I’d love to hear about your most satisfying catch or which genre—from gritty crime thrillers to dystopian sci-fi—you’d be most excited to hunt in. Please share your thoughts in the comments below; it’s always a joy to connect with fellow readers who value the small details as much as I do.
If you’re ready to jump in, you can sign up for the Typo Hunter Team to catch manuscripts first or join the ARC Team to support authors with release-day reviews. To stay in the loop with more behind-the-scenes insights, I invite you to join my newsletter on Substack or connect with me via email or Facebook.
