How did no one notice that I forgot to update one of the book cover images a couple of months ago and didn't tell me? I only noticed cos I was in the process of migrating the newsletter over to Substack. You guys! It was a WHOLE PROCESS, but at least it's done. It also means you might get a few duplicate emails in the coming weeks. Apologies for that.
On the reading front, I do not know how I did. I guess I'll figure it out when I tally everything up, but it was a very audiobook heavy month. The brain was not braining.
Here's what I read in the last month.

It's been a better month that the previous one, but for some odd reason, I thought I read more in April than I did in March. Not by much. I was recovering from pretty severe burn out in April, so I ended up on comfort reads and binged TS Joyce. Y'all know I love her books. I read the whole Red Havoc Panthers series and I'm about to start her Sons of Beasts series. It's the next one in the proper reading order (if you care about that sort of thing) from her Damon's Mountain world. Her writing is magic and I always know I'm doing to love them.
As I said earlier, quite a few audiobooks this month. I'm slow with the audiobooks, so five is quite an effort, but I was listening more than reading during the month because my eyeballs were struggling with words. Too much wording on the day job front. Graphic Audio for the win. I also became completely obsessed with the Innkeeper Chronicles series by Ilona Andrews in Graphic Audio. I started the first one in April and then pretty much proceeded to binge the rest of the entire series in May, so you'll see that in next month's reading round up. The writing is brilliant and the voice acting amazing. Highly, highly recommend.
I'm a huge Stanley Tucci fan and loved his What I Ate In One Year. It was fun, but it also took me about six months to read. It was a book club book and we discussed it a couple of months ago, however, I didn't finish it until recently. Mostly because I was really only reading it a chapter at a time when I could handle a regular romance novel. I enjoyed every moment of it. It's funny, insightful, and gastronomically wonderful. I'm on his previous memoir, Taste, now. I expect that will take me just as long to read.
I reread Praise Me: Princess by Jessa Kane, mostly because I just needed that kind of a book for a bit of a break.
That's pretty much it from me.
