Here's what I read for the month.
I started this month deciding to tackle a rather long book which I had been putting off. I knew it was good but it was also very long and that had stopped me for a long time from reading it. I finally set aside two weeks to read the book and I got it done in in eight days. That was pretty good. It was an excellent read. If you haven't read the All Souls Trilogy by Deborah Harkness, you need to. It's brilliantly written. I read the last book in the series The Book Of Life and it took my breath away.
I followed up The Book of Life with The Protector by Donna Grant. Another long-ish book but nowhere near as long as The Book of Life. Also a great read. I enjoyed it a great deal.
I also had a few shorter reads this month. I read the new installments in Mina Carter's Kyn series - Blood Sacrifice and Blood Enemy. Both very, very good.
And finally, another scorching hot erotic romance serial from Entangled, the Uninhibited! series with Untamed, Unbound and Undone. Dang! Those books were HOT! I think my kindle might have melted a little bit. :-)
On the down side, I also had a DNF with Digital Velocity. It was about a serial killer and the author dedicated way too much page space describing in graphic, gory detail the ins and outs of the serial killer. It was horrible.
That's it from me. What did you read for this last month? Do leave a comment and let me know.
And stay tuned for Helen's reading list for the month too.

Fewer books than usual but some good ones!!
DeleteYou sure did a heck of a lot better than me! Some of your books look really good though. I' having a hard time putting down a COUP D'ETAT by Ben Coes. It's a spy novel that focuses on what happens when war breaks out between Pakistan and India, and Pakistan drops a nuclear bomb forcing the US to get involved. On the edge of your set excitement, but also mixed in with a little a "what if?" There's also some romance thrown in there. Lately, for a book to keep my interest, it needs to be at least 350 pages. Two hundred pages or less will usually cause a DNF. Glad you found some good ones! Happy Friday! Hugs....RO
ReplyDeleteI prefer my books at about the 200+ page mark to be honest. The 300+ page books I find a bit of an effort but I do still read them. Just need to set aside more time for them. The book you're reading now sounds fascinating.
DeleteA lot of Hawkeye! I need to try the Grant again. I just love those covers.
ReplyDeleteYeah but three of them were short. They were part of a serial series.
