What Helen Read #60: May 2021

Hey! Hey! Hey! <--- This is me attempting to be cool. News flash! I'm not!! LOL. I'm way behind today. For some reason, I struggled to wake up this morning. Maybe because it's cold and I just wanted to stay snuggled in my nice warm bed and it's a Sunday, but I did have to get up since we had to go out for errands this morning.

Steve wanted to get this whisky that was out of stock that just came back in stock online. The website said there was none in store and I wanted to buy it right away yesterday. Oh no! Steve insisted he wanted to wait and check the store even though the website said there was none there. Yeah, so we went, checked, and there was none there. Came home and checked online and they were always sold out. It's a popular whisky. Feh! He should have let me buy it right away for him when I wanted to do it yesterday. Snoozy, losey.

On a fun note, I bought a new tea to try. It's a Thai tea mix. Delicious, but only 10 sachets in the pack for $7. A bit spendy since I need to use 2 sachets for on mug. Very yummy though. I'll save it for a special treat.

Anyway, enough of me prattling on.

Helen always has a fabulous reading month. Let's see what stood out for her.

I read quite a few books this month and they are all worth reading.

Only one historical and I have been waiting for a new Maddison Michaels book for a while and The Bachelor Bargain was fabulous and the start of a new series. 😊

I have to mention Maya Linnell’s newest. Magpie's Bend hit the spot and Karly Lane’s Take Me Home took me to Scotland that I thoroughly enjoyed and another must read is Stella Quinn’s The Vet From Snowy River and I can’t forget Mandy Magro’s Savannah's Secret, a lovely rural romance.

Rachael John’s How To Mend A Broken Heart was just fabulous and this one took me to New Orleans and a happy ending for Flick who we met in The Art of Keeping Secrets.

I also have to mention Pamela Hart’s new book Digging Up Dirt, a cozy mystery that hit the spot. There were so many twists and turns this one had me guessing to the end. Something To Hide from Fleur McDonald is another great romantic suspense.

I also read a fabulous anthology, Love In A Sunburnt Land Anthology. Five Aussie authors, five different stories using lines from the famous poem "My Country" and I do highly recommend this one.

And a month without reading some Harlequin Mills & Boon would never do and they are all so very good.

Have fun, Helen.

    1. Yeah, they look great together but Amazon and Goodreads don't make it easy to do.
