What Deanna Read #22: November 2017

It's less than a month to Christmas. Can you believe that? Are you ready for Christmas yet? I've done my Christmas shopping but honestly, it's been pretty easy because I only had to buy one gift for my beautiful baby nephew. Adults have stopped getting presents in the last couple of years in my family and I'm A-okay with that. I'd rather just enjoy the time with my family - good food, good times, good laughs. As I get older, it becomes more meaningful to have time with my family and keep them close to my heart.

As for the reading, it's been a decent month. No crazy numbers of books read but there were a few good ones and I enjoyed the month.

Here's what I read for the month.

Looking back on the month, my two most stand out reads would be from two favorite authors. Promise Not To Tell by Jayne Ann Krentz was gripping and suspenseful, full of plot twists and surprises. And of course, Cherish Hard by Nalini Singh was beautifully written and utterly romantic.

I also indulged in an author I enjoy a great deal and caught up on a few of her books. These were Taking Charge and A Fighter's Love by Lily Harlem. Both erotic romances. They sizzled with sexiness but I also love the emotion and romance Ms Harlem puts into her stories.

Speaking of sizzle, I read two books from the new Harlequin Dare line and might I say, holy fan-yourself-hot Batman! Both Ruled by Anne Marsh and Off Limits by Clare Connelly have plenty of heat and sex. If you're into a good erotic romance, you'll enjoy them.

I tried out what was supposedly a dark romance with Sapphire and Diamond by JA Low. Wow! I read these at the beginning of the month and had already forgotten I read them. I enjoyed them and was pleased to see they were not as dark as I had worried about since I don't do dark.

And finally, a couple of new to me authors with Stranded with the Navy SEAL by Susan Cliff and Christmas with her Daredevil Doc by Kate Hardy. I do so enjoy the Harlequin category romances. It was fun to explore one from their Romantic Suspense line and also revisit the Medical line. I'm particularly fond of the Medical line because I always learn something medical related along the way of having a lovely romance to read.

That's it from me. What did you read for this last month? Do leave a comment and let me know.

And stay tuned for Helen's reading list for the month too.
