I had so much fun with these videos and they are such a great way to add scripted audio to a video. I was so excited I couldn't wait to upload these to show them off. I've been looking at ways to incorporate more spoken and scripted audio into videos. Obviously, I'm not a narrator and I don't think my clients would like me narrating the audio for their videos, but I do think that audio adds a lot to a video. It's starting to be more of a common practice to use text-to-speech audio clips in videos and this is particularly prevalent on TikTok. I wanted to see what I could do with more than one voice and came up with this little technique of creating a dual point of view audio from a quote in a book that included dialogue. I love the way it turned out.
This is a scene from the book Thin Ice by Cassie Mint. The hero Logan is speaking to Mila, the heroine. I'm sure you can guess the context of what's going on with the dialogue. I've used both male and female voices to distinguish between Logan speaking and Mila's point of view.
And here's the TikTok version of the video which went live recently. As you can see, because TikTok has that tall, phone, portrait format, the video looks a little different. I also added a different soundtrack from the TikTok music library to it. It's actually Wildest Dreams by Duomo that's from Bridgerton if you're wondering why it sounds so familiar. I love that music.

I also played around with a straight-up book trailer with an audio track for the blurb being read out with accompanying video and text for visual impact. I know how I said I love how the Thin Ice video turned out, and I'm going to admit to being somewhat biased and say that I love how this one turned out too. This is Faking With Benefits by Lily Gold and the heroine, Layla is needing some hot, hunky help from her three best friends..
