What Helen Read #53: October 2020

We are another week closer to Christmas. Our shops have already started with the Christmas decorations and the Christmas foods. I've already purchased a few treats that usually only come out during the Christmas season. Cookies, biscuits, cakes. Lots of yummy, naughty treats. Are you prepared for Christmas? Will you be able to celebrate where you are? We are not sure if we will have Christmas this year because of all the rules around visiting and some family members continuing to choose to completely isolate. Might be the first time in many years that we will not have Christmas. That's going to be strange. I love the family time that we have together as well as the yummy food my mother books.

Here's what Helen read for the last month.

Helen always has a fab reading month. Let's see what stood out for her ...

I did have a good reading month in October and there was not a dud amongst them. I would recommend them all and choosing some standouts is not going to be easy, but I will try.

I read a variety of genres and a few Mills & Boon. They always make me smile Kandy Shepherd’s Their Royal Baby Gift. It was a standout, a beautiful story, and a Christmas story.

A few historicals which I love, Anna Campbell’s newest The Highlander's Forbidden Mistress. This one is steamy and fabulous and then I read a couple from a new anthology out of Have Yourself A Merry Little Scandal by Anna Campbell and Sasha Cottman

Rural romances I do love these and Nicola Marsh has a new one out Second Chance Lane and Mel A Rowe’s Xmas Dust was awesome.

I read my first Kerry McGinnis story and I will be back for more. I loved Croc Country.

A murder mystery set in Singapore in 1910 by A M Stuart, Revenge In Rubies, was not put-downable.

A fun read from Joanna Nell, The Great Escape From Woolands Nursing Home.

A new one from Savannah Blaize a fabulous one to meet the Deal With The Devil.

And you can never go wrong with a Fiona McArthur story. Montana is the first in a series. YAY!

I could keep going but I will stop here, I thoroughly enjoyed them all. 😊

Have Fun, Helen.

  1. Morning

What a great reading month I had, I hope that you had the time to read a lot of good books as well.

As for Christmas I am no way prepared LOL and I think we are still going to be able to have a Christmas day this year with family at this stage you can have 20 for inside and 30 for an outdoor party so I think we will make it, I hope so anyway and all will be close family.

    Have Fun

    Helen
