I had to start Episode Two of this series right away after I finished Episode One. I'm glad that I didn't have to wait.
OMG!! Derek!! That's what I was messaging to my friend, Bambi while I was reading the book.
OMG!! Derek!! He is so dirty and rude, and you'd think he would come across vulgar but instead it just makes him super sexy and makes you all hot and bothered. I don't know what happened to Derek in his past and what has made him such a control freak but when he said "Everything would go back...back to the way it had been before I'd ever touched Frankie Jordan" it made me think ... famous last words. Of course, it wouldn't go back to the way it way, otherwise there would be no story.
OMG!! Derek!! The sexual tension in this part of the story is through the roof. Marni Mann does sexual tension very well. And of course, when they finally get to do the deed, it's hot and raunchy, and you definitely need a girlfriend to "OMG!! Derek!!" to, so make sure you are reading this series with your best girlfriend.
At this point, we still don't know much about Derek other than the fact that he's planning revenge on someone named Randy. The reasons are not clear. It has been hinted at but nothing concrete. I hope to find out more as we get to the next part.
As for Frankie, I found her a bit uptight and naive though she does loosen up and become braver and more liberated as the story goes. The only objection I have to this story is Brea. She's saying all the things that I don't think Frankie should hear or want, especially after what Derek has told her. I'm afraid that Brea filling her head with all those thoughts is going to make her stupid. Fortunately, it did not turn out that way.
The ending ... boy, was the ending a surprise. I foresee a lot of drama in the next episode as Derek and Hayden's need for revenge collides with Frankie's life. Poor Frankie. Ms Mann, you need to write faster!
I'm not usually a fan of serials just because of the wait between installments but this one is worth reading. I highly, highly recommend it. Make sure you read it with a girlfriend so that the both of you can gush over Derek and fight over who gets him for their latest book boyfriend.
