What Deanna Read #83: December 2022 to February 2023

Oof! This is going to be a big post since I'm catching up on 3 months of books read that I have not posted. Excuses aside for slackness, I'm trying to catch up after almost 6 months of travel and being away while trying to juggle work. It's been crazy, y'all. I'm slowly starting to come round, but staying on track is still a struggle. My focus has been mostly keeping ahead of deadlines. A friend of mine calls it survival mode. I'm getting there, I promise!!

Aside from that, I hope you guys are well and have had some awesome reading.

Phew! That's a bit! It's not as much as previous months since my reading has been somewhat slow in January and February. Maybe even December. I just went back to count, and it's 77 books in three months. That's not terrible.

It's been a while so I'm going to try to remember any standouts and not get too long-winded.

All the Cassie Mint, of course! Fight Dirty, A Baby For The Outcast, Kiss It Better, Mistletoe Mobster, etc., etc. If you've not read Cassie Mint, go read her. I can't recommend her enough. She's an auto-buy and read immediately author for me.

I finally read Laylah Roberts' MC Daddies series and I think I read it at the right time when I needed a lot of comfort and care, so the heroes being super protective and tender with the heroines worked for me. I've read 4 books in the series so far, and have enjoyed all of them. My favorite though of the four so far is Untamed Daddy.

Anna Hackett came out with more books from her new Sentinel Security series. Striker and Steel. Both were awesome, but I think I like Steel more, because... Killian!

A very recent read was Lily's Forest by Kat Baxter which was super cute. I'm a sucker for a pen pal romance, and this one includes letters that Lily and Forest exchange before they meet in person. Utterly adorable.

Finally, special shout out to Boyfriend Goals which is an MM romance that I listened to on audiobook and fell in love with the narrator, Iggy Toma. This was such fun. It's such a fun quirky book, and the hero, Milo who is neurodivergent was AMAZING. I love how confident he was in himself and how he embraced all his quirks and you just fall in love with him and his idiosyncrasies.

That's it from me. What did you read this few months? Do leave a comment and let me know.

Stay tuned for what Helen read too.

  1. A great month in February, especially for a short month. Working my way through the Six Pack Ranch series by Vivian Arend. Most of which I've had for several years, so a bit of a dent in the tbr jar.
Where did you get those re issued Anna Hackett books from?

    1. Those old Anna Hackett's were rereleased as the Warrior of the Winds series and instead of 5 novellas, she combined them into 3 longer books. I had bought the older books a long, long time ago. https://amzn.to/3KXEjid

I am definitely enjoying Kaylea Cross. I'm doing her in audio as I got a good deal on her audiobooks and Jeffrey Kafer, her narrator, is one of my favorites.

I need to check out Vivian Arend. I have a few of her books in my collection.

Soooooo...behind on the Eve Dallas books.

    3. Nice. They are short and fun. Originally published by Harlequin, but she got the rights back and rereleased them herself some time ago.

  2. A big list and the good thing is that even though you have been travelling and really busy you still get time to read which is awesome :)

    Have Fun

    1. I'm putting yours together next and it will be equally big since it's three months worth of books read. I love seeing all the covers together though.
