What Deanna Read #61: February 2021

I want to stop saying how fast each month goes but man, this month went fast. Maybe it's because there are fewer days in the February. For some weird reason this month I kept getting my days wrong. I put a calendar invite for Wednesday 24 Feb into 24 March so I totally didn't get the reminder. Then I thought I made a mistake with a lunch reservation and there was a conflict because I was looking at the wrong date. My brain is now firing on all cylinders.

It's a shorter month for February to fewer books read. I also took it a little slower this month and chilled out a bit more on the reading front.

That's it from me. I hope everyone is well. My thoughts are with you all. Stay safe.

Here's what I read for the month.

This month had a lot of reading favorites so I binged TS Joyce with Lift Her UpLove Her BetterLumberjack WerebearThe Witness and the BearDevoted To The BearWoodcutter Werebear, and First Time Train Wreck. There's something about Ms Joyce's writing that keeps me going back over and over. I love her characters, they are filled with so much heart and passion, and her plots.

I tend not to read much of Delta James' books since they tend to be a little on the darker end of the spectrum for me, but I loved Best Seller about a romance novel hero who comes out of the book series he's written in and becomes the hero of the romance author who created him. Such a lovely little twist to the romance genre. That little touch of supernatural to an otherwise contemporary romance was a lot of fun.

Dani Wyatt is an author I enjoy a lot but her books can sometimes be a little too much more me. Dear Diary came very close to pushing me too far past my boundaries but managed to stay within the lines. This would not be for you if you don't like the daddy kink as it's quite full on.

I also discovered a new author duo with Jane Henry and Shanna Handel in Be My Babygirl. Another daddy kink book but more daddy-lite but it's so sweet. I adored Darius. He was so smitted and obsessed with Katie.

Of course, I can't leave out Nalini Singh. I'm slowly catching up with her books and was delighted to be back in the Psy Changeling world. I loved Wolf Rain. Her books are always so powerfully passionate and romantic.

Soul of Eon by Anna Hackett needs a mention too cos there's no one who writes action quite like Ms Hackett. Reading her books are like watching an action movie in your mind. If you haven't read her, you need to check her out.

That's it from me. What did you read this last month? Do leave a comment and let me know.

Stay tuned for what Helen read too.

    1. I thought February was a slow month for me too but I found I made a decent dent into the reading pile. If only I didn't keep adding more books onto it than I read.
