What Helen Read #49: May 2020

Hello all. As I'm writing this the world is a crazy place right now. So much tragedy and destruction. So much of it coming out of the US. So sad. I'm falling back onto my favorite authors and romances for a bit of an escape. The news has been getting me down.

What about you? How are you doing? Have you been affected by any of the stuff going on? Please take care and stay safe. xoxo

Here's what Helen read for the last month.

Helen always has a fab reading month. Let's see what stood out for her ...

I read a few historicals that were all so very good. Anne Gracie finished her Marriage of Convenience series with a fabulous story. Marry In Scarlet was not put downable. You can never go wrong with an Anne Gracie story.

A debut, Always Louisa by Joanne Austen Brown was really good. It's a historical with a lot of suspense in it.

I listened to Sasha Cottman’s The Duke's Daughter and Karen Brooks' The Darkest Shore took me back to the 1700’s for a romance with witches, another new to me author that I look forward to more from.

Some fabulous woman’s fiction this month Lisa Ireland’s The Secret Life of Shirley Sullivan was a compelling story with a twist. A new to me author Paige Toon with The Minute I Saw You was a story I thoroughly enjoyed, and The Switch by Beth O’Leary was a real page turner when a grandmother and granddaughter switch places.

Rural romance was a big hit with me this month. Maya Linenell’s second book, Bottlebrush Creek was so very good and two Meredith Appleyard books Home At Last and When Grace Went Awayy are must reads

Annie Seaton had me turning the pages with her third in her Pentecost Island series, Nell, and Ann B Harrison took me to Texas for a heartwarming story with Texas Cowboy.

And as always there are some fabulous Harlequin Mills& Boon stories that are always fun and very satisfying to read.

Have Fun, Helen.
