What Deanna Read #34: November 2018

I've managed to read a couple more books in November but I stuck to my favorite authors. Oh, I lie, one new-to-me author but she came highly recommended and it was good. :-)

Here's what I read for the month.

Since I stuck to favorite authors this month, the reading has been pretty good. I enjoyed everything I read.

Sawyer by Serena Akeroyd was a kick in the gutt. While the first five books in the Quintessence series were a lot more fun while being engrossing, Sawyer was deeper, darker, much more intense. The series has taken a bit of a turn but a good one.

Triumph, also by Serena Akeroyd continues the TriAlpha Chronicles and this instalment was epic. I think each book gets better than the last. If you haven't already, read the series. You'll love it. And the men ... mmmm ... yum!

And finally, Traveler by Lily Harlem and Their Invasion by Marissa Farrar kick of a shared world series called Planet Athion where there's the end of the world, an alien invasion, and other hunky aliens to the rescue. I loved how each author focused on a different part of the shared world but read together, they form a cohesive whole.

That's it from me. What did you read for this last month? Do leave a comment and let me know.

Stay tuned for Helen's books next.

  2. November
Another slow reading month for me too! I'm getting a seriously large tbr list and December will probably be similar. Too much socialising. Lol.
Anyway, here goes, and apart from one very short story they are all fantasy or sci-fi.

1 Aton by Cara Bristol. Dakonian mail order brides. Intergalactic dating agency #2

2 Waking the Dragon by Juliette Cross. Vale of Stars #1

3 Dragon in the Blood by Juliette Cross. Vale of Stars #2. Roll on book 3

4 Gabe by Veronica Scott. Badari Warriors #5. Another great addition to the series

5 Mission: Her Security by Anna Hackett. Team 52 book 3. I'm having some cognitive dissonance on this series! Whilst I love her books and am enjoying this series they are somewhat formulaic, even more so than normal. The heroine is kidnapped or snatched at least 4 times and escapes through derring do! And the fantasy elements don't somehow fit into modern Las Vegas, where they do when it's her gladiator or hell squad world.

6 Dark Cure by Cynthia Sax. Refuge #6. The final in the Dark universe

7 Death on the Edge by Sara Paretsky. A VI Warshawski short story. I've followed Sara for years now and she never disappoints

8 Cade by Cara Bristol. Dakonian mail order brides. Intergalactic dating agency #3

    1. I'm so behind on Cara's books. *sad face*. And I'm glad Juliette is going to be releasing a new Vale of Stars book. I've been waiting for those. They are good. I love her Morgons.
